PURE SOULS

"In those days Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan. And just as he was coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens torn apart and the Spirit descending like a dove on him."
The Holy Bible
Mark 1.9-11

From ancient times people have celebrated the Epiphany feast following the Julian calendar. This saint holiday is a general celebration of Jesus Christ baptism in the Jordan river. People believe that on the 19th of January the water becomes holy and is imbued with special powers. Early in the morning in the ice of lakes and rivers people cut holes in the shape of cross and dive into the cold water. Symbolically they dive three times to wash away their sins and to experience spiritual rebirth.
